ABOUT THIS PROJECT

An existing Thomas Church garden was revitalized to meet the needs of an active family with seamless and expansive indoor and outdoor experiences for large gatherings and functions.  The garden had beautiful structure and symmetry, but with small spaces and run down materials it was in desperate need of reinterpretation.

Large-scale stones imported from India and Egypt were installed in the courtyards to give elegant and majestic definition to the space. The existing symmetrical brick walls were resurfaced with stucco and large stone caps to create a contemporary garden to blend with the aesthetics of the Mediterranean style home. Commissioned outdoor sculptures added interest and depth including a water fountain that anchored the front garden. Wraparound stone benches and an outdoor fireplace created a magnificent space for entertaining. Custom fabricated see-through steel gates and cascading fences mirrored the existing lines of the historic home and created distinct spaces.
